Printing T-shirts using Direct To Garment (DTG) printing, the procedure for printing to cotton based materials with a large format inkjet printer, is much superior to screen printing, the process of pressing inks into cloth by means of a stencil. It is more environmentally well disposed, less time intensive and more cost effective for smaller runs.
DTG t-shirt Printing is more environmentally friendly than screen printing. DTG utilizes water-based inks to printing directly onto clothes, meaning that there are no prosperity inks used in the actual printing and the only waste that will happen is from the occasional print head cleaning – it must also be noted that head cleaning does not involve any outside materials only ink. Needless to say, major head cleaning may be prevented by routine maintenance of the printer, and thus 1 head wash a day – a matter of milliliters – is usually adequate. Then so long as waste ink is disposed of properly, printing t-shirts with the DTG method should have virtually no environmental effects. Screen printing nonetheless has overabundance inks from elements of the stencil not published to the t-shirt and if displays are washed these prosperity inks are then washed down the drain.
The Procedure Of screen printing involves creating a stencil and then pressing inks through said stencil onto cloth. The stencil can be produced by hand or photo emulsion, and for each color of a layout another display is necessary. DTG uses only applications and a computer to deliver a design directly to a printer, which may take a matter of moments with all colors being printed simultaneously. DTG is much less time consuming with respect to setup, and it is especially useful when printing small runs of t-shirts.
Smaller runs of t-shirts are far more cost effective with DTG printing than screen printing. Minimum setup with DTG printing means that t-shirt runs as low as 1 may be made for a matter of $5 – $10 in materials and to get a print on white may take as little as 2minutes to create. Display printers may assert that on larger runs they could create a significantly cheaper print however with a number of colours, and then drying time this is apparently far-fetched.
cheap t-shirt printing singapore using Direct To Garment printing is much superior to screen printing. Whilst both approaches produce an excellent quality, DTG is far more Environmentally inviting, is less time consuming, and much more cost effective for smaller runs. Whilst screen printing is a tried and tested method of printing Onto t-shirts it is apparently that DTG printing is the way of the future.
